I'm going to share one of my Ielts writing despite this writing is not good enough but hopefully it can give you inspiration to write better than me. this is my first post about ielts writing and I look to post more next time. thanks for coming..
In recent century, motor vehicles have been spectacularly improved both its design and features. It becomes simpler and easier to use. Therefore, many people prefer to use it rather than public transportation. It also gives them more individual freedom of movement. Consequently, the number of private vehicles is dramatically increased. In some countries, every household almost has private vehicles, especially cars and motorcycles. As a result, the streets now become overcrowded and so this condition causes more air pollution. Some people argue that personal vehicles need to be reduced. The question is “what is the best way to do it?”
One of the reasons regarding the increasing number of vehicles is that in modern era, people travel more to do many activities for many purposes. It needs good facilities of transportation. However, the current facilities are not good enough to support them. For example, in developing countries, many places are far from the reach of public transportation. Sometimes, people have to wait for hours to get a bus. This conditions force them to take advantages of personal vehicles. I believe if government want to reduce personal vehicles then they have to upgrade their current transportation. Transportation must cover wider area and well organized, mainly trading posts. By doing this, citizen will use public vehicle instead of their car.
The other reason is personal vehicles has became people life style. People tend to think that they who drive an automobile will have higher social class than they who use public transportation. This trend leads people to buy personal vehicle even they do not really need it. They also always drive it even to a near place. As a result, the streets become overcrowded and air pollution because of emission gases will be worse. A good idea is to restrict the number of private motor vehicle available on each family, only one car allowed. Furthermore, government also has to apply high parking cost in all public areas and raise individual vehicle tax. China is known to have the most expensive parking fee in the world. This policy successfully reduces the number of individual motor vehicle.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that people will prone to travel by using public facilities because they must be do not want to pay high tax and also parking fee while public transportation have been well organized and comfortable.
